Exclamation More Weapon Styles!

Saw this thread on GWO thought I could post it here but IT'S NOT COPIED.

Just as the headline says, no need to explain, so lets start off.

Ranger
Sticks: Like a stick as long as the ranger it self wich they can do some cool moves with, more defensive then offensive and a good option when the mob goes close combat with you.

Daggers: Dual-wielded daggers whick can have a chance to poison the target, more offensive then defensive

Warrior
Knuckle-Barbs= Barbs on your knuckle wich has low dmg. but high atk. speed.

Crossbows= Some cool crossbows would be nice.

Monk
Short sticks=Dual-wielded and the attack must be really cool, like the assasin.

Couldn't come up with more, hope you enyojed reading it.

Fun ideas but I think that each of the suggested weapons would work better with classes other than the ones u suggested them for lol.

For example:

The crossbow: Ranger Weapon: Long range, higher dmg range, yet slow fire rate (sort of like the hammer for warriors). Using this with barrage would be a killer...

When I read the title I thought it would be about different styles of weapons for each profession. It'll be interesting to see what Factions would bring. I look forward to seeing a huge samurai sword for the warrior... Maybe some organic/oriental styled rods for the casters...

Way out of bounds..

Try something along the lines of...

Warrior
Blunt Mastery (Maces, One handed hammers)

Req 1-13. Blunt Mastery
12-24 Damage


Ranger
Crossbows (Although crossbows don't fit the Ranger theme)

Req 1-13. Crossbow Mastery
18-26 Piercing Damage
2.7 Fire Rate
5% chance of jamming (Takes 2 seconds to unjam by pressing "j")

Monk
Beads (A different kind of Monk only focus item)

Req 1-13. (Smite, Healing, Protection, or Divine Favor)
+8 Energy
20% chance of quicker recharge (Smite, Healing, Protection, or Divine Favor)
20% chance of quicker cast time (Smite, Healing, Protection, or Divine Favor)

Mesmer (Not personally too great of an idea)
Whips

Req 1-13. (Whip Mastery)
+5 Energy
8-16 Damage
1.8 Attack Speed
5% Chance of getting caught on target (Untangle by pressing "l", takes 1 seconds, can be interrupted)

Note: The tangling was to prevent IW users.

Elemantist
Elemental Auras (A Ele only two-handed item, two balls of surging energy (Air, Earth, Fire, or Water) in the palms of the elemantists) hands.

Req 1-13. (Any Elemantist Attribute)
+6 Energy
+1 (Air, Earth, Fire, or Water)

Necromancer
Couldn't think of one.

Beads for monks as a focus item would be cool. Or perhaps as a piece of armor. Much like warriors have helmets, mesmer have masks, etc. As for the whip, I don't think it would be a popular weapon amongst mesmers. Think along the lines af artistic, creative type line. Mesmers are more like artists than Indiana Jones. I'd imagine whip as more of a necro item.

There was a picture a long time ago, it showed a ranger using whips as the new beast mastery related weapon. I think it was proven to be fake, but I still like the idea.

I really like the mace idea. What I personnally think would be cool, albeit cliche, would be some kick-ass, giant great swords.

Here's what I came up with for a necro

A Skull(human or monster, plus is a focus item)

Req 1-13. (Death, Blood Magic, or Soul Reaping)
+6 Energy
+30 health
Addes +3 health regeneration for 10 seconds to minions(chance 15% for Death Magic).
Target foe suffers from Disease and Bleeding(chance 15% for Blood Magic).
Addes +6 energy regeneration to energy bar of necro for 10 seconds, while in combat(chance 15% for Soul Reaping).

Meaning that there are three different types of skull focus items. Each skulls look different than each other. Example dragon skull(s) for death magic, imp skull(s) for blood magic, and gargoyle skull(s) for soul reaping.

All I really want is more skins for Necro Wands/Staves. I don't care about the stats for a specific weapon.

Right now we have Truncheon and Deadly Cesta. That's it. How many types of axes alone are there?

You could put crossbows on the assassins, easily... totally in-character

The rangers can go R/A soon for dual daggers, so... *ticks box* check! Maybe we should ask for ninja fighting claws to Tiger's Fury with?

I wouldn't mind my mesmer having a rapier, like the one in the concept art It could be just like a melee wand, linked into Illusions and do the regular 11-22. Then again, I wouldn't mind a whip linked into Domination *cackle* It'd be just like Quistis Trepp from FFVIII

Hmm, I definately like the idea of a monk weapon linked into Smite... nunchaku or a staff... the nunchaku would be cooler, but I think the staff is more in-character

For something in development, those screens look real... but just because it's in test doesn't mean it works properly or will ever make it live It sounds like something they tried and binned because it didn't work out. LOTS of ideas get tried and canned in develpment, trust me

Why not have two handed axes and swords for the warriors. These two handed weapons would have a higher max dmg. rating than their one handed cousins but would attack slower (maybe at hammer speed).

A stick? You must mean a spear or a javalin some what like the amazon in Diablo 2 Lod your thinking about?

uhm... no i dont like any of the ideas really only the maces for warriors, but they could even be under hammer mastery but 1 handed for all i care. crossbows are to advanced IMO and bows are good enough already... The beads for monk, to over powered i say +4 energy is ok but a healing/prot/DF hybrid would be healing every second with those beads... and also why couldnt something like an ele use them? 20% for those spells + healing spells + something like ether renewal... to much i say. sticks? break. dont work.

the jamming thing, i don tthink will work. g = guild button BTW and why not just use IW with a bow or something, thats doesnt get jammed?

they already have +12 20/20 offhands??????????

You misread it, Any monk attribute, not all monk attributes. They could require Divine Favor, and give the 20/20 to Divine Favor, but nothing else. IW is for melee weapons only.. And as for the G = Guild Button, the keys can be reconfigured in the options menu.

I think those fake whips in that Ranger picture would be PERFECT for Necromancers, just think about it and get back with me
